Living Bristol by Keepin’ It Local
by Cate Murway

Wait…wait…don’t be “MALLed".

Small businesses maintain a sense of community and local character, while proudly offering the best value for your time and money.
Independent local businesses employed an array of supporting services when they hired architects, designers, cabinet shops, sign makers and contractors for their construction. Local accountants, insurance brokers, computer consultants, attorneys, and advertising agencies help run them. The local retailers also carry a higher percentage of locally-produced goods, meaning more jobs for local producers. This is simply good, efficient business.

The remarkable history of Bristol Borough, the picturesque scenery and the elegant restaurants that overlook water are all wonderful, but it’s the people who make it special.
So, shop on “Friendly” Mill Street, Market Street and Radcliffe Street.  Then enjoy a terrific lunch or dinner in a romantic setting with wonderful ambiance in historic Bristol on the Delaware.
These are just some of the businesses that define a sense of place. Their survival depends on your patronage.

Kelch House
