Salon Halo by Haley & Co.

Salon Halo is a new, fresh, fun, and creative salon located right here in Bristol Borough on Radcliffe Street. Once upon a time, it was an old-fashioned barbershop, the last bastion of masculinity, with big leather barber chairs and wood floors.
A barbershop is a place where people of all walks of life could come in and mingle as they got their hair cut and enjoy great conversations with the barber and fellow clients, a classic bonding experience. That’s not such a bad throwback to our past!

Enter Haley Ann Palma, BCTHS ‘15 with her Salon Halo, an impressive experience, not just a haircut; a most welcome change in today’s impersonal world.

Haley, with help from her beau, Nicholas Tucci, a landscaper and a soccer coach at YMS, and her supportive family members, painted and redid the bathrooms, and refurbished the impressive 3- station space, a unisex shoppe sporting a black & white color theme with purple accents. Her Uncle John Palma, who owns John Sebastian painting, graciously offered some of his professional expertise.

“I have a little coffee bar here too!” Haley said proudly. “We will also offer a complimentary glass of wine when you get your hair done!”

She had always received great emotional support from her late grandfather, Joseph Louis Palma, Sr., while her grandmother, Mary Antoinette Palma, dubbed “Pepper”, continues to provide her with much appreciated love and attention.

Haley grew up in the Levittown and Bensalem areas along with her sister, Lindsay, a Temple advertising/ marketing grad, and their younger brother, Tyler [12].
Their father, Joseph Louis Palma is a professional poker player and their mother, Janean Rhone Palma works for Amazon.
“Haley has always been ambitious. She made her passion for hair and makeup, her dream, come true!!
I am so happy for her, and love her!! Keep shooting for the stars!!” exclaimed Haley’s mom.
Haley recalls always enjoying hair salon trips as a young girl with her mother.

Entering BCTHS, Haley originally opted to continue her education, intent on a nursing degree. “It just wasn’t a good fit for me though!”
She participated in “Career Explore” her freshman year and the cosmetology classes [hand, skin and nails education] “always felt like fun and I knew a job should be something you love to do”!

Saturday's child works hard for a living.

Haley graduated and earned her cosmetology license in 2015. Her first job was at the “Hair Cuttery” in Newtown, and then she started working in “Lace'd Unisex Hair Salon” in Penndel.

One of her clients, who has now become a close friend, Melissa A. “Missy” Pickersgill confirms her talents.
“Haley is very gifted, attentive, and conscientious, and I was always very pleased with her work. It is an honor to see her achieve her entrepreneurial goal!”

Salon Halo boasts incredible cuts for all, “we can cut the whole family’s hair; women’s, men’s, and kids’”, along with delicate or dramatic highlights, fantasy colors, actually any color service, including blonding, carefully placed babylights and teasylights, and the very versatile, free-hand balayage, as well as expert root touchups, perms or relaxers, Brazilian Blowouts, and semi-permanent hair smoothing treatments and keratin treatments that help hydrate the hair, provide shine, and strengthen the locks.

AND 10% Senior discounts!

“When I was a kid, I always loved to draw and do arts & crafts. Even now I love doing that kind of stuff. So I guess it DOES come natural to me because doing peoples’ hair is an art.
I can skillfully do both hair and makeup for weddings, or proficiently put a new spin on picture-perfect updos for proms, and we even offer eyelash and hair extensions, and spray tanning. We will soon be offering Cali Curls.”

Hairstylists bring out the beauty in you!

Haley is very happy with this new chapter in her life.
“I love Bristol and the water and the wharf. I am very independent and I want to be my own boss,” she confirmed. “My dreams have finally come true and I’m officially a SALON OWNER! It has been such a long time coming but it was well worth the wait.”
