Penelope Fox Art Studio Always DRAWS Crowds…..
by Cate Murway

Jina Dierolf IS Penelope Fox Art. Jina provides an eclectic array of entry point classes for budding artists of every age, introducing a lifelong relationship with creativity and the arts.
It is their 5th year in business. Penelope Fox Art opened in 2009 as just a personal art studio. Jina registered as LLC and started classes in 2013, winning Best of Bucks 2016 & 2017 and a finalist in the Bucks Happening for 'Kids Parties'.

She began with one little art class for kids on a Sunday and her Penelope Fox Art Studio now encompasses family classes, fine art classes, fundraisers, D. I. Y. classes, craft classes, sewing classes, community events, and art classes for individuals with special needs.
“Local support has meant the world to us. We have to create an event that celebrates our 5th year and give other local businesses a chance to meet the community and have the community meet them. The community support catapulted and sustained me!”
Her beaming smile is her logo, her bubbly personality is her business card, and how she leaves others feeling after an experience with her is her powerful trademark!
Through innovative programming and thought-provoking exhibitions at events offering local artwork, Jina engages the community with visual arts and flat out just makes art fun for everyone!

She has decided to celebrate their 5-year milestone by showcasing a variety of local artists, crafters, performers, and businesses. This May 19th Saturday event [Sunday, May 20th is the rain date] will also feature information pertaining to their studio offerings.
There will be something for everyone and it is FREE FOR ALL ATTENDEES! The Craft Fair will run from 11:00am-5:00pm. There is ample street parking and additional parking at the SEPTA train station.

Local business vendors will be showcased and selling their products in the Canal Works parking lot.
Some of the Borough businesses will be represented by John Brennan’s Sculpture Art by ‘River-Rat Art Studio’; selections of wild life photography by David Zimmerman’s ‘1st Lite Productions’, and Artisan Crafts by ‘The Crafted Arts Boutique’ from Lorean Murphy’s ‘Open Center Yoga’.
Additional items for sale include ‘upcycled’ furniture, bath and body products, rag dolls, toys, candles, wine glasses, home décor and woodwork.

Musician/ folk guitarist/songwriter, Evan Scheerer and a teen entrepreneur’s DJ ‘Milkyway Music Enterprise’, along with activities for the “youngins” including Hula Hooping with Julie and Carmen, a bounce house, canvas painting and face painting, a kids’ sing-a-long with Righteous R Jolly, Balloon art with Myers Designs, LLC, and Hair accents by Philly Fairy Hair and makeovers with Bristol’s Bucks Happening Winner, ‘Sing Along Princess Parties, LLC’ will all be located in the lot around the back of the Canal Works building.

Oh, and come hungry!
Local food offerings will include the tempting, real Texas style BBQ from ‘Chuck’s BBQ’ and wine tasting
with Buckingham Valley Vineyard wines from ‘Got Wine?’. Both businesses are located in the heart of historic Bristol on the Delaware on Pond Street.
Dog & Bull will be selling their pub-style American chow.
Broken Goblet is coming. Remember their newly launched ‘no one likes us, we don’t care’ Jason Kelce labeled beer? Noahs Dove Farm will come stocked with veggies, fresh herbs, greens, micro greens, and edible flowers you can feel good about eating. [p.s. they provide their local Bucks County grown food for Jules At Market right here in Bristol].
Liberty City Roasters will serve their “always fresh roasted coffee”. Grab a cup. Have a CUPple!
A great cup of coffee is more than a beverage; it can be a true authentic experience.

Penelope Fox Art Studio’s free art class demonstrations will begin at noon. Attendees must be present to sign up at the Studio Information Table located on the porch.
Hurry! There are only 20 seats available for each session. These classes are amazing!

First covered in the class, is an introduction to the history of “still life” in the Golden Age of Art, then Sketching, Composition and Values are addressed. There is a short, informative group critique and introduction to personal stylized preferences before continuing to a finished piece.
The instructor and amazing local artist John Danks uses colored pencils for his works. He resides right here in Bristol Borough.

John Brian Danks has philanthropically been toting his treasure chest of art supply materials up and down the halls of Saint Christopher’s Hospital for Children, the 189 bed non-sectarian children’s hospital located in Philadelphia, for nearly four years. He generously distributes his accumulated art supplies to kids waiting for medical treatments. Dubbed “the Crayon Man” in a recent KYW Newsradio article, his heartfelt goal is to “brighten their day” and involve the young patients who are enduring lengthy medical treatments. “I have developed an Art Cart and I volunteer as an artist’s "buddy" at Saint Christopher's Hospital for Children.” His Art Cart is a project that he does from his heart; it is a volunteer project that is also financed by John.
“As a part of giving back to our community during our May 19th Craft Fair, and to keep the Art Cart going, we are accepting donations for the Art Cart in the form of art supplies. Contributions can be markers, crayons, glue bottles, glue sticks, construction paper, Play-Doh, coloring books, watercolor paint, acrylic paint, paint brushes, mixed media paper, drawing pads, erasers, colored pencils, oil pastels, or chalk pastels. We would be grateful for any offerings.”
So, this is the charity attached to the art celebration.
Please drop your donated ‘Art Starts’ in the DANK Cart!
