Hot Event at the Grundy Ice Arena
by Cate Murway

Save the date! You are cordially invited to socialize, sip and celebrate historic Bristol on the Delaware at "Frozen in Time" A Night to Remember on Saturday, May 30th, 6:30PM-11:00PM.
Don't miss this FUNdraiser, complete with music, great vibes, drinks and terrific company to kick off the summer and help us stay rooted in the Past and growing towards the Future. History is paid real respect.

Cocktail parties are fashionable and fun and each guest will genuinely enjoy this well executed party-for-a-purpose. “Frozen in Time” will set a festive tone, with an engaging blend of drinks, food and friends in a breathtaking, aesthetically appealing, classy ambiance.
The “coolest” venue is the state-of-the-art Grundy Ice Arena, located on the former property of the Leedom’s Carpet Mill on Beaver and Canal Streets. Constructed in 1997, the rink is located in the very heart of Bristol Borough, the 1.7 sq. mi. of incredible history located along the scenic Delaware River. This magnificent skating facility boasts two regulation NHL-sized ice rinks in a beautiful architecturally designed structure with angled walls and plenty of natural lighting from its massive windowed areas and it is being given a makeover for this FUNtastic “hottest” gathering in town!

The Bristol Lions Club, Bristol Rotary Club, Bristol Borough Business Association and Bristol Borough Economic Development Group are the four prominent service groups that do so much for the community and they have partnered in this second joint venture for the benefit of Bristol by organizing the "Frozen in Time" A Night to Remember event. The co-coordinators, VP of ‘Raising the Bar’, JoAnna Schneyder, a member of the Rotary Club, and Ron Walker, a member of the Bristol Lions, also two of the seven board members of the economic revitalization group, are very enthusiastic about this event.
“I’m excited that we’re all working together again. No one said no. That’s what makes it special.
It’s nice to see everyone in the town all dressed up and all together! Not many people really know about the Grundy Rink, so we wanted to showcase it”, shared JoAnna.
The Grundy Arena not only offers a variety of hockey and skating programs but also birthday party packages, fundraising programs, advertising opportunities, and space for corporate and charity events.
“The rink is never really used for an event other than ice skating. Other groups could use it to generate income and I’m excited to see what Mycle and Chuck are creating,” Ron added.

No time like the present to discover the past!
Mycle J. Gorman, proprietor of Spice & Co. hinted as to what is planned, “We’re honoring the past, stepping back with blues and purples creating the vintage feeling, entrenching it with a very magical mesh, washed in nostalgic lighting. sssshhhhhhh……A special, surprise guest will be announced.”
He and Ronald Vincent McGuckin, Esq., the Design Works team at 311 Mill Street, provide award winning results locally, regionally and nationally.
"After the great success of last year's Piazza del Bristol held in the Grundy Commons’ courtyard, we're excited to transform an even larger and more challenging space," said Chuck Reece, President of Reece Lighting & Production, LLC. The entire team is brimming with aggressive goals.
If you think their hands are full, you should see their hearts.

"What we can see is limited,
what we can create is endless"

Flowers and baskets are hung throughout the town and the Garden Club has been funded to spruce up the gateways into Bristol.
Money raised last year provided the elaborate festivities for the Tree lighting celebration and the façade and interior restoration for the Center for the Arts, as well as the design and publication of the Cultural Corridor brochures and “things people don’t even realize like insurance for all volunteers and an escrow account to assure sustainability.” Bill added, “We just can’t do those things without major fundraisers like this.”
Support your town and have a most memorable time. There is ample parking and a FUNomenal evening has been ordered in advance!
